Thai Yoga Massage
Thai Yoga Massage is a combination of Yoga, Reflexology, Acupressure, Physiotherapy ad Ayurveda. The practitioner works on acupressure points found along the energy lines (Sen), stimulating or relaxing the body’s energy. Furthermore, there is a number of passive stretches to release pains and energy blockages. No oil is used during or after the therapy. The practitioner uses a mattress on the floor to perform the bodywork, which is done in four positions – front or supine, back or prone, side and seated – lasting between one and one and a half hour.
Thai yoga massage dates back to 2500 years, time of Buddha, and it was originated in Buddhist monasteries in northern India. It was and still is part of monks’ spiritual practices, reason why this massage leads to a concentrated and meditative state of mind. Therefore, it is natural that we practice a 5 or 10 minute meditation after the bodywork.
